The heart of our Chanteclers is in their stomach. Their simplistic nature makes them easily tamed with food, and their calm and non-aggressive personality makes these Chanteclers an ideal family fowl.
Chanteclers mature relatively fast, with hens laying large brown eggs at five to six months. The roosters pack on the pounds, and are ready to be butchered around the same time.
The Chantecler is a hardy bird from Canada, that was bred to thrive in cold climates. They are critically endangered, and deserve the support of backyard enthusiasts.
